I was just curious if it is still safe to assume that while at BUD/S you will be issued Bates 922's and if so does anyone know of a good place to buy a pair? I have done a lot of searching and have found nothing under the range of $110. Should I just assume that I am going to have to fork out somewhere in that range if I want to start training in boots for my runs? Also, are the Bates 922 tropical boots you can find at NavySEALS.com the same boot or are there two versions, tropical/non-tropical? Sorry for my ignorance.

I know personally there used to be a Bates 129 that is the 922 in Desert format. I have a pair, never been used lol. I'm pretty sure it's still 922's as I haven't heard different though from any friends who have passed through BUD/S.
