I purchased the book yesterday. So far the book is very interesting, I agree with jeremy and was very surprised to hear the how the stats on killing have increased in the past few wars. In earlier wars such as WWI and two it wasn't rare for only 20% of an infantry platoon on the front line to fire at the enemy compared to almost 90% in the Vietnam war. I won't talk too much now, I still have to tread the whole book, but this would be a great chat topic this month.

I found it intrusting how the author makes a point that, generally, being part of a SF groups vs. being a regular grunt is better on the person’s mental health. Basically, he says that the risk of being messed up in the head because you are an operator is very small. His points were good on this subject, but since he was never on a SF group or killed anyone and because I’m in the same boat as him, i don't know if he is right. I hope that he is correct.
