I'm one of the few on here not going Navy, but Army SF. Still, our goals are pretty similar.

Short term: Within the next 6-12 months
Drop 85lbs and PT 3-4x/week
Pass PST:
500yd Swim-11:00,
Pushups-60,
Situps-60,
Pullups-10,
2 Mile Run-16:00 (barely passing),
4 mile ruck hump w/ 55lbs in 60 min (not passing, but need to start somewhere, and 15min mile is infantry standard)

Get finances settled and out of debt
Finish out Associates Degree in Engineering, then enlist in PA Guard for Infantry (Airborne and Ranger School if available).

Long term:
Finish Bachelor's degree
Pass PST with High Scores:
500yd Swim: 9:30
Pushups: 100
Situps: 100
Pullups: 25
2 mile Run: 12:00-13:00
4 Mile Ruck w/ 55lbs: 42min
12 mile Ruck w/ 85lbs: 2hrs, 30minutes

Do an interstate transfer to MD Guard BCo/2nd/20th Special Forces Group to become an 18B or 18C (Special Forces Weapons or Engineering SGT) and if possible, get a spot on the Dive team.

Well here's an update on mine:

quote:

Short-term (by December 31)
Crossfit "Fran" (21-15-9 of thrusters 95# / pullups ) in under 4:00. (last done in 4:38 in the summer)

DONE - 3:00 in June, new goal is sub-3:00

Crossfit "Grace" (30 clean and jerk 135#) in under 6:00 (last done in 7:12 on Saturday)

DONE - 3:56 in July

30 muscle-ups (rings) in 7:00 (last done in 12:30 a month ago)

DONE - 6:34 last week

Run 400m in 0:59 (last done in 1:00, about 4 years ago)

NOT DONE - haven't tested myself on the 400 but my 200 is around 29-30 seconds, so this one will need some work.

Row 500m in 1:30 (last done in 1:40 a month ago)

NOT DONE - set a new best of 1:35.0 two weeks ago. I'm doing more rowing recently so getting down to a 1:30 might be pretty soon.

Long-term
Complete a trail 100mi ultra next summer (before I'm 21)

DONE - ran Vermont 100 in 28.5 hours in July, before I was 21

Major focus
OCS and BUD/S 2011

NOT DONE - still need to work on my CSS and then contact a recruiter
