Taken from navyseals.com. Is there any truth to this? Is vision still waiverable? Is LASIK now legit, or is PRK the only option? _______________________________________________________________________________ "nobody's standards are quite as high as the ones I set for myself." -nuke |

Andrew, According to this, it is completely true. I also sent a PM to RetiredSOCS on SOCNET to ask him if this was waiverable and if LASIK is accepted. He stated that it is NOT waiverable and that you can get LASIK on your own dime, but you have to wait a minimum of 6 months after the surgery to enlist. Hope that helps, Norm "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." George Orwell |

Does this apply to officer candidates (who don't have SO rating) ?

So if I have 20/50 and 20/80, correctable to 20/20, my only option to get in is LASIK paid for by myself?
